88-acre wooded island nature preserve in the Potomac River, a living memorial to President Theodore Roosevelt. 2.5 miles of trails through forest, swamp, and marsh habitats. Monument plaza with 17-foot bronze statue of TR. Accessible by footbridge from the Virginia shore. Open daily 6am-10pm. Free.
