The iconic 1.8-mile path around the Tidal Basin is most famous during the National Cherry Blossom Festival (late March to April) when 3,000 Japanese cherry trees bloom. The walk passes the Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Spectacular at sunrise. Free. Open 24 hours.
