Alley Brews

Tucked just off Tennyson Street, Alley Brews carries forward the legacy of De Steeg Brewing & Berkeley Alley Beer Co.— Denver’s first alleyway breweries. Founded in 2013, De Steeg quietly became a neighborhood favorite, known for bold Belgian styles and cozy, off-the-beaten-path vibes. – Yes, literally the entrance is in the alley! In 2021, the brewery was renamed Berkeley Alley Beer Co., expanding from a 1-barrel to a 4-barrel brewhouse and continuing the tradition with a new chapter. Then in 2025, the keys changed hands once more—this time to a women-owned team with deep roots in craft beer and a bold vision for what’s next. Today, The Alley is more than a brewery. It’s a creative, welcoming space where beer, non-alcoholic options, and (soon) coffee all share the spotlight. Our mission is to evolve alongside today’s craft drinkers and those drawn to what the world of craft can become—curious, boundary-pushing, and never stagnant. Owners Liz and Chelsea bring years of industry experience and a passion for making the space more fun, more inclusive, and more community-driven. They’re also the duo behind the Body By Beer Podcast —a video series celebrating beer, food, and the people who make the craft scene what it is. We’re proud to be a women-owned business in Denver and thrilled to be part of the vibrant Tennyson Street community.
