Starting in 2025 the Takoma Park DC Library will host the ‘Science Friction’ Sci-fi Book Club. Science Friction will meet every fourth Thursday of the month to discuss recent publications of science fiction. Science and speculative fiction began as a genre of experimentation, where authors used the genre as a sandbox to play with imagined realities of what our world could be. Our club reads stories that keep the spark of this imagination, and use it to challenge how we think about the world today. Meetings are In-Person at the Takoma Park Neighborhood Library in the downstairs meeting room. We meet every fourth Thursday of the month through the October 2026 from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. November and December meetings will take place in the same time slot on the third Thursday of the month to accommodate for holiday closures. All materials are available through the DCPL Catalog in a variety of formats.
