Musical Storytime with Opera Carolina

Join us for Musical Storytime with Opera Carolina and bring your favorite stories to life! Musical Storytime blends live singing, interactive storytelling, and early literacy skills to spark creativity and curiosity in young audiences. Join us as explore the story of La Cenerentola (Cinderella) with music and creativity. This program will be presented by Opera Carolina as La Cenerentola (Cinderella): La Cenerentola, also known as Cinderella, is a story about a young girl who is forced to work as a maid in her own home. Her family is cruel and treats her like a servant. But along comes a Prince and with the help of a wise philosopher named Alidoro, she wins his heart. The story is full of fun and laughter, with characters like the Prince, disguised as his valet, and the stepsisters who try to look their best and marry the Prince. Cinderella's commitment to honesty and forgiveness brings the opera down to earth, making it a heartwarming tale for all ages The program is designed for K-2nd grade audiences, but can be enjoyed by all ages. Families welcomed! Program tickets will be available at the front desk 15 minutes prior to the program; tickets are available on a first-come first-served basis . This program is sponsored by Culture Blocks— a community partnership between the Arts & Science Council, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to bring arts and cultural experiences closer to where residents live.
