In this interactive music appreciation class series, explore music that caused a stir with audiences, governments, or religious institutions for various reasons. Learn about classical music that incited scandal including operas “Tannhauser,” “Madame Butterfly” and “Tristan and Isolde,” among others. Part of a three-part series, "Controversial Compositions." Attendance at all three sessions not required. Collaborator: MacPhail Center for Music. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
