Big stories. Bold characters. Zero pressure. Join us twice a month for a high-energy read-aloud experience designed just for preteens! We’ll dive into exciting books together—laughing, predicting plot twists, debating characters’ choices, and bringing stories to life through discussion and interactive activities. This club removes common barriers to reading by making stories accessible to everyone. Whether your preteen is a strong reader, a reluctant reader, or prefers listening over reading independently, this space centers the joy of storytelling. Participants will also have access to digital audiobooks, making it easy to continue building literacy skills anytime, anywhere. March's Book Selection: Esperanza Rising, by Pam Muñoz Ryan "Esperanza thought she'd always live with her family on their ranch in Mexico - she'd always have fancy dresses, a beautiful home, and servants. But a sudden tragedy forces Esperanza and Mama to flee to California during the Great Depression, and to settle in a camp for Mexican farm workers. Esperanza isn't ready for the hard labor, financial struggles, or lack of acceptance she now faces. When their new life is threatened, Esperanza must find a way to rise above her difficult circumstances - Mama's life, and her own, depend on it." Meeting Dates: Wed. 3/11 & 3/25
