Summer Science: Discovering DNA

"Discovering DNA" walks participants through the scientific method and shows them how to extract DNA from a strawberry. Ever wondered what DNA looks like with your naked eye? Come join Science Speaks Spokane and learn how to extract DNA from food! A demonstration AND active hands-on experiment will be provided for attendees. Participants will be provided with worksheets to take home and instructions on how to do this experiment at home. Children under age 9 should have a caregiver to assist in the learning. Children under 6 will be offered age-appropriate activities such as coloring and quiet toys.
